Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse Top Fans' Hologram Wish-Lists

Departed artists like Whitney Houston, Queen's Freddie Mercury and John Lennon also get mentions from fans in Times Square.

NEW YORK — After the <a href="/news/articles/1683238/tupac-coachella-hologram-.jhtml">Tupac hologram performance</a> at Coachella made such a huge splash, the team behind the projection system floated the possibility this week of an <a href="/news/articles/1683909/justin-bieber-elvis-hologram.jhtml">Elvis hologram to perform with Justin Bieber</a>. Even '90s girl group <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/04/26/tlc-reunion-tour-left-eye-hologram">TLC is rumored to be considering</a> a virtual version of <a href="/news/articles/1683858/left-eye-tlc-death.jhtml">the late Left Eye</a> on their upcoming tour. With all that talk, MTV News hit Times Square to ask fans which departed artists they would most like to see perform in hologram form. While some of those interviewed wanted to see other rappers like the Notorious B.I.G. or Nate Dogg, one fan thought Whitney Houston should get the honors. <embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:764208/cp~vid%3D764208%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A764208" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed> "I love her, I grew up singing her [songs], just walking around the house when I was seven or eight," Shayana of Houston said. Brits Amy Winehouse and John Lennon of the Beatles were also popular picks, and a few rock fans mentioned Queen's flamboyant frontman. "It would have to be Freddie Mercury because Queen were one of the all-time greatest bands and he was a showman," said a fan named Rob. Blane Mader would like to see a hologram of another <a href="/news/articles/1683289/tupac-hologram-coachella-future-of-touring.jhtml"> great showman, Michael Jackson</a>. "It's a really cliché answer, but in my time I've never seen him and it would just be something awesome to watch," Mader said of the King of Pop. Members of the Jackson 5 recently announced that they would love to have a <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/04/23/michael-jackson-hologram-jackson-brothers-tour">virtual Michael</a> on their upcoming Unity Tour. "Wouldn't that be wonderful? As a matter of fact, we had that idea two years ago for Michael's Cirque du Soleil show," Michael's brother Jackie Jackson told E! News. 'Django Unchained' First Look: Leonardo DiCaprio Heads South

For years, Quentin Tarantino has toyed with the Western, peppering homages to directors like Sergio Leone into "Kill Bill" and "Inglourious Basterds," but now the director is finally taking on the genre with "Django Unchained," albeit in his own twisted way.

Most of Tarantino's secrets have stayed on the set, but Thursday (April 26) Entertainment Weekly debuted the first official look at just how far west Tarantino is going in "Django Unchained."

What separates the film from your usual Western is that it's actually what Tarantino calls a "southern," taking place primarily in the pre-Civil War South. The first photos show off the unique style of the film and reveal what Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz will look like when "Django Unchained" opens in theaters on December 25.

The photo of Foxx and Waltz could be straight out of a traditional Western. Foxx, as title character Django, carries his saddle over his shoulder and wears a prototypical cowboy hat. His companion, Dr. King Schultz, played by Waltz, is a German dentist-turned-bounty-hunter, and his more sophisticated getup reflects that.

It isn't until we see DiCaprio's evil plantation owner, Calvin Candie, that we find the connection to the Deep South. In the photo, DiCaprio is dressed up like a fine Southern gentleman, but he poses menacingly with a hammer in his hand.

EW spoke with Foxx about working on the sure-to-be controversial film, which addresses slavery like never before.

"There's a beautiful way [Tarantino] found for the characters to talk to each other. It's mind-blowing. You've never heard it this way," Fox told the magazine. "You've seen movies deal with slavery — or Westerns that never dealt with slavery — do it the safe way. This way is like ... wow."

Usher To Preview Looking For Myself At Off-Broadway Show

Singer tells MTV News 'Fuerza Bruta' matches the 'more artistic' music on his upcoming album.

This Saturday (and this Saturday only), Usher will appear in New York City's "Fuerza Bruta," an off-Broadway show where no one speaks, but the story is told through bright lights, music and dancing. In the lead role of Running Man, Usher will also use the show to preview his June album release, Looking for Myself.

Fans in the audience will likely get closer than they've ever been to the singer, as the audience stands during the performance, becoming another member of the company. With several weeks until his album release, Usher explained to MTV News at a rehearsal why he wanted to use this show to preview tracks.

"I felt like the natural elements as well as the emotion of 'Fuerza Bruta' would definitely speak or be significant to some of the stories and I guess hopefully a connection [was there]," he explained of tying this performance to his album. "When we began to explore different directions [for the performance like] maybe we use some of their music, maybe we use some of mine ... and before you knew it the idea came together. We tried it, I got on Running Man and it worked."

The show will stream his entire album, which drops June 12, and he thinks the mind-bending artistry of "Fuerza Bruta" works with the sound he's created on it. "This is more artistic of an album than I've had in history," he said. "And I felt like yeah, it would be a lot for me, but I was willing to at least try it. There were many times I had seen the show and I only hoped that I would be able to make it happen."

Justin Bieber's Baby Mama Song Joins List Of Pop Revenge Tracks

Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Pink and Justin Timberlake also have famous retribution tracks.

When it comes to pop star, revenge is often a dish best served ... with a beat. <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a> recently told a gathering of British journalists that he's <a href="/news/articles/1683817/justin-bieber-believe-paternity-scandal-song.jhtml">written a song</a>  for his upcoming Believe album about Mariah Yeater, the woman who claimed that she was carrying the teen star's baby. We haven't heard any of the lyrics yet, but if Bieber's tune is anything like classic retribution tracks by the likes of Pink, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna and Michael Jackson, the other Mariah probably isn't going to be excited about the shout-out. <center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:26708/cp~vid%3D26708%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A726708" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> Some other great vengeance songs: In the wake of her assault by ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rihanna/artist.jhtml">Rihanna</a> has jumped on-and-off the revenge wagon over the past few years, always keeping things vague, but biting. In her song, <a href="/news/articles/1664974/rihanna-man-down-video-controversy.jhtml">"Man Down"</a>,  and the accompanying video, a vengeful Rihanna shoots down her assailant after he sexually assaults her, singing, "What started out as a simple altercation/ Turned into a real sticky situation." Carrie Underwood had payback on her mind too in her breakout hit, "Before He Cheats," in which she hits out at an unidentified philanderer by singing, "I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up four-wheel drive/ Carved my name into his leather seats. I took a Louisville slugger to both headlights/ Slashed a hole in all four tires." Pink was not so delicate in her hit "So What," in which she snarled, "And I don't need you/ And guess what/ I'm having more fun/ And now that we're done/ I'm gonna show you tonight." That, of course, was written before she reunited with her target, ex- and now-current husband Carey Hart. Speaking of exes, Kid Rock was much less delicate in "Half Your Age," which is a clear slag of ex-wife pin-up Pamela Anderson, in which he informs the former "Baywatch" babe that, "I found someone new who treats me better/ She don't bitch about things we ain't got/ When I sing this tune it don't upset her/ She's half your age and twice as hot." Justin Timberlake wasn't as explicit, but he definitely left little doubt that he was busted up over his split with Britney Spears when he wrote the scathing, "Cry Me a River," which features the classic lines, "Your bridges were burned, and now it's your turn/ To cry me a river." Though you never really see her out on a date with anyone, Kelly Clarkson has more romantic drama than most pop stars, which she's chronicled in a series of scathing tunes, including "Low," "Never Again" and "Wash, Rinse, Repeat," which breaks new ground by not going after a lover, but a <a href="/news/articles/1638667/is-kelly-clarkson-dissing-ryan-tedder-in-new-leaked-song.jhtml">songwriter who did her wrong</a> . The ladies don't have a lockdown on songs seeking payback, but two of the all-time greats are Carly Simon's biting "You're So Vain," which has kept listeners guessing for decades about the subject of the line, "You're so vain/ I bet you think this song is about you." The other is Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know," which strikes out bitterly at an ex (allegedly "Full House" actor Dave Coulier) with the lines, "I'm here to remind you/ Of the mess you left when you went away/ It's not fair to deny me/ Of the cross I bear that you gave to me." Taylor Swift has also made a career out of (almost) naming names, <a href="/news/articles/1650325/is-taylor-swifts-dear-john-about-john-mayer.jhtml">writing derisive songs about her former loves</a>  and then sometimes letting it slip in interviews who she was aiming at. And then there's Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," a sparkling pop tune so catchy it almost makes you forget that he's dissing the groupies who'd hounded him for years during his time in the Jackson 5. Though he later said there wasn't a real Billie Jean, the song's refrain is a model for getting the last word with the lines, "Billie Jean is not my lover/ She's just a girl who claims that I am the one/ But the kid is not my son."
